Your appointment will focus on how the shoulder is behaving in everyday life – for example whether reaching overhead, putting on a jacket, lifting, sleeping on that side or training seems to bring the symptoms on.
I will look at how the shoulder moves, how strong and comfortable it feels in different positions and, where useful, how the neck and upper back may be contributing. If the pattern suggests that imaging or another medical opinion would be useful, I will explain why and discuss the next step with you.
For many shoulder problems, rebuilding strength and tolerance is an important part of getting back to normal activity. Hands-on treatment may be used alongside exercise rather than as a stand-alone approach.
There is no set number of appointments that everyone needs. We will review how the shoulder is changing and whether treatment continues to feel useful as we go.
